- Cirium, the international aviation analytics firm, awarded the Chilean airport for its operational efficiency, as it registered more than 87% of its departures and 84.5% of its arrivals on time during 2025.
- This milestone is related to the new infrastructure, technologies and a management system that assigns airlines by zones and flights prioritizing their efficiency.
Santiago de Chile International Airport, a company managed by Groupe ADP, VINCI Airports and Gestione Concessioni, was officially recognized as the most punctual large airport in the world (over 25 million passengers per year) by the international analytics company Cirium, a leader in aviation data and analysis.
The award ceremony was led by the new Minister of Public Works, Martín Arrau; the CEO of Santiago de Chile Airport, Nicolas Claude; the president of the board of Santiago de Chile Airport and managing director of VINCI Airports, Valérie Vesque-Jeancard; the Chief Investment Officer of Groupe ADP and director of the concessionaire, Antoine Crombez; the general director of Civil Aeronautics, Humberto Fernández; and representatives of public services and airlines.
According to Cirium’s global 2025 ranking, Santiago de Chile Airport achieved the best punctuality standards for large airports with 87.04% of departures and 84.5% of arrivals on time. After Santiago, the list of large punctual airports is headed by the terminals of Riyadh, Mexico City, Honolulu, Oslo, Doha and Copenhagen.
The Cirium study is based on the analysis of more than three million air operations per month and prioritizes those that are carried out at a time of up to 15 minutes after the reported flight time.
The CEO of Santiago de Chile Airport, Nicolas Claude, says that the award “is a source of pride, not only for us, but for the country. It reflects the efficient coordination between Santiago de Chile Airport teams and different companies and services that participate in the airport operation, such as the DGAC. Once again, the public-private partnership proves to be a virtuous mechanism to generate concrete benefits for the people”.
Minister of Public Works, Martín Arrau, stated that “this recognition reflects strong public-private collaboration. Concessionaire companies operate the airport with high efficiency standards and sustained investment in infrastructure, while public authorities such as the Civil Aviation Authority, Investigations Police, SAG, and Customs contribute significantly. This coordination delivers results like this, positioning the airport as a benchmark and marking an important achievement for the country.”
Cirium Chief Marketing Officer, Mike Malik, explained that this recognition is driven by three key factors: “strong and consistent leadership; sustained investment in infrastructure, people, and training; and strong relationships across the airport ecosystem”.
The achievement is the consequence of several actions that have been carried out by the company’s team. In addition to the implementation of new infrastructure that has greatly reduced remote flights, a new cutting-edge technology has been implemented for flight management.
Likewise, an intelligent operation management system has been defined, with airlines grouped by sectors and the monitoring of each flight prioritizing their gates assignments by their departure time so interferences among aircrafts are reduced.
