  • Airline Awarded Gold Status for Environmental Impact in EmeraldSky Annual Review, Reserved for Top Five Carriers Globally

Frontier Airlines, America’s Greenest Airline, was recognized as North America’s lowest-emission carrier in Cirium’s 2025 EmeraldSky Review, placing it in the Gold status tier reserved for the top five carriers globally. The annual review, released this month, analyzed emissions by airlines and found Frontier to have the lowest of all U.S. carriers. It also recognized operations and practices which meaningfully reduce carbon dioxide emissions and environmental impact, including Frontier’s young fleet with an average age of approximately 5 years.

“We are honored to be recognized in Cirium’s 2025 EmeraldSky Review, validating the hard work our team continues to do to reduce our emissions and serve as America’s Greenest Airline,” said Trevor Stedke, senior vice president of operations, Frontier Airlines. “By operating one of the youngest and most fuel-efficient fleets in the U.S., along with a variety of other fuel conservation measures, we are able to meaningfully reduce our environmental impact and save our customers money in the process.”

Fuel-efficient A320neo family aircraft comprise 85% of Frontier’s fleet.  In 2025, the company achieved the highest fuel efficiency level of all major U.S. carriers – 46% more miles per gallon – as measured by available seat miles per fuel gallon consumed compared to the weighted average of other U.S. carriers.
