According to the provisions of the Government of Chile as part of the “Plan de Fronteras Protegidas” (in English “Protected Borders Strategy”), as of the last week of July, the following changes apply:

Departures from Chile

  1. Chileans and foreigners residing in Chile, provided they meet one of the following requirements:
  • Carry the enabling Mobility Pass. This does not include those minors who do not have the Mobility Pass.
  • Have the Exceptional Permit to leave the country approved and delivered by the Virtual Police Station. This permit is only issued in case of: humanitarian nature, essential steps for the traveler’s health, essential steps for the proper running of the country and residence abroad. This permit will be requested from all Chileans and residents in Chile who do not have the enabling Mobility Pass, including minors.
  1. Foreigners who are non-resident in Chile:
  • Foreigners not resident in Chile who leave the country with their passport from the country of origin.

Entering Chile

  1. The entry of non-resident foreigners remains restricted. Only passengers with a safe passage from the country of origin or those who comply with Decree 102 of the Ministry of the Interior may enter, under exceptions.
  2. All passengers over 2 years of age must present a negative RT-PCR test result, whose sample collection has been carried out within the 72 hours prior to the last boarding point for Chile.

3. Submit the Affidavit of Travelers electronically. Such declaration must be completed within 48 hours prior to travelling to Chile.

  1. Foreigners who, for exceptional reasons, may enter the country, must have health insurance with a minimum coverage of USD $ 30,000.
  2. All passengers will be tested again upon entering Chile.
  3. All passengers must isolate for 10 days immediately after entering the country. Only passengers with an enabling Mobility Pass and families entering with minors, may isolate in family homes with those relatives who permanently reside in them, as long as they are at a distance of less than 5 hours from the Airport. The transfer to the residence from the airport must be by private transport.
  4. Passengers without a Mobility Pass or whose residence is more than 5 hours away must carry out the mandatory isolation of 10 days in a Transit Hotel. The expenses will be covered by the passengers.
