Porter connects Montréal to Western Canada with new three non-stop routes

FAA Proposes Requiring 25-Hour Cockpit Voice Recorders

Source: FAA The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) is proposing to extend the cockpit voice-recording requirement to 25 hours for all newly manufactured aircraft. The voice recorder captures all transmissions and sounds in the cockpit, including the pilots’ voices and engine noises. “This rule will give us substantially more data to identify the causes of incidents and help prevent them in the future,” said FAA Administrator Mike Whitaker. The FAA pledged to take action on the issue following the Safety Summit in March 2023 during which more than 200 safety leaders met to discuss ways to enhance flight safety. NAC collaborates with ATR and TotalEnergies to offer the equivalent of 6% SAF on NAC’s ATR delivery flights

Source: ATR The initiative provides for a blend of 30% SAF (Sustainable Aviation Fuel) to be used for one out of five deliveries of new ATR aircraft to NAC, resulting in four tonnes of CO2 saved for every batch of five aircraft. This is equivalent to a 6% SAF blend on the first leg of each ferry flight from 2023 onwards. AirSwift is the first airline to benefit from the programme, with a new ATR 72-600 from the NAC Skyline, which departed from Toulouse to the Philippines on 27 November 2023. Air Travel Consumer Report: September 2023 Numbers and 3rd Quarter Numbers

International Tourism to End 2023 Close to 90% of Pre-Pandemic Levels
