TSA announces expansion of Certified Cargo Screening Program for manufacturers and shippers

YVR voluntarily suspends construction activities on South Airfield

Source: YVR Vancouver International Airport (YVR) has voluntarily suspended construction activities on the southern half of Sea Island, encompassing its South Airfield, following the discovery of what are believed to be Musqueam artifacts on the site. At the time of finding, YVR suspended further work and notified Musqueam Indian Band. The artifacts have been sent to a certified archaeology and heritage lab for technical assessments. “YVR is located on Sea Island, which is the traditional, unceded, and continuously occupied territory of Musqueam. Hawaiian Airlines’ Efforts to Support Maui

Source: Hawaiian Airlines Hawaiian Airlines added an additional flight from Kahului to Honolulu to support the ongoing evacuation of displaced visitors and residents. The airlines has also flown its full regular schedule of some 25 roundtrips between Honolulu and Maui this past weekend. Hawaiian transported more than 6,600 people out of Maui  and expects to carry more than 17,000 visitors and residents out of the island in the 72 hours since the fires broke out. Delta will contribute $250,000 to the American Red Cross in support of Hawaii wildfires disaster response and relief efforts

U.S. Cargo and Passenger Airlines Added 1,992 Jobs in June 2023; Employment Remains 7.9% Above Pre-Pandemic June 2019

U.S. scheduled-service passenger airlines employed 525,334 workers in June 2023 or 66% of the industry-wide total. Passenger airlines added 3,481 employees in June 2023 for the twenty-sixth consecutive month of job growth dating back to May 2021.
