P. Carey School of Business. Real Madrid fly better to Riyadh on Emirates A380 with bespoke livery

Source: Emirates Emirates, the world’s largest international airline and Official Main Sponsor of Real Madrid, welcomed the Spanish football club onboard a specially chartered A380 flight from Madrid to Riyadh yesterday. The iconic double-decker aircraft featured a new livery with some of the club’s top players. The club made their way to the Saudi capital ahead of the Spanish Super Cup semi-final match versus Valencia on 11 January 2023. Airbus and VDL Group join forces to produce an airborne laser communication terminal

Source: Airbus Airbus and VDL Group have signed a partnership agreement for the development and manufacturing of a laser communication terminal for aircraft, known as UltraAir. Based on the development led by Airbus and the Netherlands Organisation for Applied Scientific Research (TNO), the two companies will now prepare a demonstration of a prototype and a first flight test in 2024. As of 2024, Airbus and VDL Group – a Dutch high-tech industrial supplier – will further industrialise the prototype in order to make it ready for integration with a hosting aircraft. Passenger Recovery Continues in November

Source: IATA The International Air Transport Association (IATA) announced that the air travel recovery continued through November 2022. Total traffic in November 2022 (measured in revenue passenger kilometers or RPKs) rose 41.3% compared to November 2021. Globally, traffic is now at 75.3% of November 2019 levels. International traffic rose 85.2% versus November 2021. The Asia-Pacific continued to report the strongest year-over-year results with all regions showing improvement compared to the prior year. November 2022 international RPKs reached 73.7% of November 2019 levels. Domestic traffic for November 2022 was up 3.4% compared to November 2021 with travel restrictions in China continuing to dampen the global result. Azul Reports December 2022 Traffic

Consolidated passenger traffic (RPKs) was essentially stable compared to December 2021 on a capacity (ASKs) increase of 6.7%, resulting in a load factor of 77.6%. "2022 was a remarkable year for us.
