Passenger Demand Up 9.1% in June

Source: IATA The International Air Transport Association (IATA) released data for June 2024 global passenger demand with the following highlights: Total demand, measured in revenue passenger kilometers (RPK), was up 9.1% compared to June 2023. Total capacity, measured in available seat kilometers (ASK), was up 8.5% year-on-year. The June load factor was 85.0% (+0.5 percentage points (ppt) compared to June 2023). Changes to EU regulation restrict the use of new generation baggage scanners at Europe’s airports

Schiphol and KLM test self-driving shuttle service for flight crew

Source: KLM The second phase of the trial of electric self-driving buses starts today at Schiphol Airport. During this phase, the airport, together with KLM Cityhopper and KLM Ground services, is testing a fixed, pre-programmed route to and from the apron. Iberia Group inaugurates flights between Madrid and Ljubljana today

Source: Iberia The Spanish company offers over 2,500 seats to fly to the Slovenian capital this summer.  It has two weekly frequencies: Monday and Thursdays.
