Integrating Domestic and International Departure Passenger Flows Could Save Millions and Streamline Travel

Source: IATA The International Air Transport Association (IATA) released a study showing substantial cost savings, operational efficiencies, passenger experience, and sustainability gains can be made by using biometric digital ID technology to manage the segregation of international and domestic departing passengers at airports where they are currently separated by physical barriers. U.S. Airlines’ September 2025 Aviation Fuel Consumption down 9.7%, and Fuel Cost per Gallon up 0.3% from August 2025

Source: US DOT The Department of Transportation's Bureau of Transportation Statistics (BTS) today released U.S. airlines' September 2025 fuel cost and consumption numbers indicating U.S. scheduled service airlines used 1.514 billion gallons of fuel, 9.7% less fuel than in August 2025 (1.677 billion gallons) and 1.2% less fuel than September 2024 (1.532 billion gallons). The cost per gallon of fuel in September 2025 ($2.304) was up 0.8 cent (0.3%) from August 2025 ($2.296) and down 2.3 cents (1.0%) from September 2024 ($2.327).
