American Airlines commits to conditional purchase of 100 ZeroAvia hydrogen-powered engines, increases investment in hydrogen-electric innovator

Source: American Airlines American Airlines announced that it has entered into a conditional purchase agreement with clean aviation innovator ZeroAvia for 100 hydrogen-electric engines intended to power regional jet aircraft with zero inflight emissions save for water vapor. In addition, American has increased its investment in ZeroAvia. American made its first investment in ZeroAvia in 2022 and has also now participated in the company’s Series C financing round. The engine agreement follows the Memorandum of Understanding the companies announced in 2022. EC clears proposed acquisition of stake in ITA Airways by Lufthansa, subject to conditions

Source: European Commission The European Commission has approved, under the EU Merger Regulation, the proposed acquisition of joint control of ITA Airways (‘ITA') by Deutsche Lufthansa AG (‘Lufthansa') and the Italian Ministry of Economy and Finance (‘MEF'). The approval is conditional upon full compliance with the remedies offered by Lufthansa and the MEF. Today's decision follows an in-depth investigation of the proposed transaction, including the sending of a Statement of Objections. Lufthansa and ITA operate an extensive network of routes from their respective hubs in Austria, Belgium, Germany, Switzerland and Italy. TAP will resume flights to Manaus in early November

TAP Air Portugal is resuming flights between Lisbon and Manaus, the capital of the state of Amazonia, in an operation with three weekly flights, with a stop in Belém, on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays.
