New Brazilian airline selects Airbus’ FHS material service adapted for smaller fleets

Source: Airbus Itapemirim (ITA), a new Brazilian airline launched in June, has selected Airbus’ FHS Power By-the-Event (FHS PbE) material services for five of its A320 aircraft. The material service FHS Power By-the-Event consists of providing standard exchange parts to operators on a paid-by-the-event basis, with guaranteed parts availability to secure their operations. Airbus preparing for an independent legal assessment in response to customer disagreement over A350 surface degradation

Source: Airbus In the face of the ongoing mischaracterisation of non-structural surface degradation on its fleet of A350 aircraft by one of its customers, it has become necessary for Airbus to seek an independent legal assessment as a way forward to resolve the dispute, which the two parties have been unable to settle during direct and open discussions. Safety is Airbus’ top priority. The surface paint-related findings have been thoroughly assessed by Airbus and confirmed by the European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) as having no airworthiness impact on the A350 fleet. First A321XLR development aircraft undergoes final assembly

This is the first of three planned development aircraft which will perform the flight testing and Type Certification programme -- starting in 2022, to pave the way for series production and entry into service in 2023. ITA Airways firms up order for 28 Airbus aircraft

Embraer and Pratt & Whitney Partner on 100% Sustainable Aviation Fuel Flight Demonstration Program

First in-flight 100% sustainable-fuels emissions study of passenger jet shows early promise

Source: Airbus Initial findings from a world-first study of the impact of 100% sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) on both engines of a commercial jet have provided promising early results. The ECLIF3 study, involving Airbus, Rolls-Royce, German research centre DLR and SAF producer Neste, marks the first time 100% SAF has been measured simultaneously on both engines of a commercial passenger aircraft – an Airbus A350 aircraft powered by Rolls-Royce Trent XWB engines. Airbus and CMA CGM Group sign for four A350F freighters
