Southwest Airlines Orders 100 Boeing 737 MAX Jets, Plus 155 Options

Source: Boeing Boeing [NYSE:BA] and Southwest Airlines today announced the carrier will continue to build its business around the 737 MAX family with a new order for 100 airplanes and 155 options across two models. The deal comes after a multi-year fleet evaluation by Southwest and means that Boeing and its suppliers could build more than 600 new 737 MAX jets for the airline through 2031. Southwest had been exploring options to modernize the largest component of its fleet: the 737-700 that serves the airline’s needs for a 140-150 seat airplane. Embraer Deliveries 71 Jets in 4Q20 and 130 total Jets in 2020

Source: Embraer Embraer (NYSE: ERJ; B3: BOVESPA: EMBR3) delivered 71 jets in the fourth quarter of 2020, of which 28 were commercial aircraft and 43 were executive jets (23 light and 20 large), which represents a decrease of 10 aircraft in the quarter in comparison with 4Q19.The Company delivered a total of 130 jets in 2020, comprised of 44 commercial aircraft and 86 executive jets (56 light and 30 large), which represents a decrease of almost 35% compared to 2019, when 198 jets were delivered. Boeing Responds to FAA Approval to Resume 737 MAX Operations

Embraer announces Arjan Meijer as President and CEO of Commercial Aviation business

Source: Embraer HIGHLIGHTS   Embraer delivered five commercial jets and nine executive jets (five light / four large) in 1Q20, and the Company’s firm order backlog at the end of 1Q20 was US$ 15.9 billion;  EBIT and EBITDA in 1Q20 as reported were US$ (46.9) million and US$ 9.3 million, respectively, yielding EBIT margin of -7.4% and EBITDA margin of 1.5%. Boeing Terminates Agreement to Establish Joint Ventures with Embraer

Boeing (NYSE: BA) announced today that it has terminated its Master Transaction Agreement (MTA) with Embraer, under which the two companies sought to establish a new level of strategic partnership.
