Boeing Appoints Brian West as Chief Financial Officer

Boeing Elects Lieutenant General Stayce D. Harris to Board of Directors

She is type rated in Boeing 747-100/200/400, 757/767 and 777 aircraft, and was a United Airlines pilot for nearly 30 years before retiring from the company in 2020. International Space Station Astronauts Install 2 Advanced Solar Arrays Provided by Boeing

Source: Boeing Two new, advanced solar arrays provided by Boeing [NYSE: BA] have increased the International Space Station (ISS) power supply after European astronaut Thomas Pesquet and NASA astronaut Shane Kimbrough installed them during three spacewalks on June 16, 20 and 25. The new arrays contain stronger solar cells that are also more efficient than their predecessors. Measuring 61 feet long and 20 feet wide, they generate twice the power in half the space of the original arrays that they partially cover. Boeing provided the new arrays to NASA, with solar cells from Spectrolab and a structure from Redwire that allowed the arrays to be rolled tight for launch and unroll with their own energy instead of requiring a motor. Airbus strengthens its military satellite communications position

Source: Airbus Airbus will place a dedicated UHF (Ultra High Frequency) military communications hosted payload on board the EUTELSAT 36D telecommunications satellite. As the leading provider of military satellite communications (milsatcom) services in Europe, Airbus will be able to offer a new UHF communications service to the armed forces, particularly those of European countries and NATO allies. As the UHF frequency band is a relatively scarce orbital resource, this offering will make up for the capacity shortage around the world. Airbus to provide satellite-based maritime surveillance services for the UK Royal Navy

Source: Airbus The UK Royal Navy has awarded a 12 month contract extension to Airbus covering the continued provision of satellite-based maritime surveillance services for the Joint Maritime Security Centre (JMSC). The contract follows the successful completion of a proof of concept phase, and will ensure the continued monitoring of areas of interest in UK waters and ultimately protect UK sovereign borders from suspicious vessel activity. Helvetic Airways Receives Its First Embraer E195-E2

Source: Embraer Helvetic Airways of Switzerland received the first of four new E195-E2 aircraft today at Embraer’s facility in São José dos Campos. Helvetic will receive three further E195-E2s by the end of next month, July 2021. Helvetic ordered 12 E-Jet E2s in 2018 to support its fleet renewal initiative: 8 E190-E2s (already in service) and four E195-E2s (converted from the original E190-E2 order).
