Porter Airlines Orders up to 80 Embraer E195-E2s to Lead Major Expansion Plan

Source: Embraer Porter Airlines has unveiled plans to extend its award-winning service to destinations throughout North America with a firm order for 30 Embraer E195-E2 jets, with purchase rights for a further 50 aircraft. The deal will be included in Embraer’s second quarter backlog, and is worth USD5.82 billion, at list price with all options exercised. First revealed in May 2021, this announcement adds the purchase rights and the customer name, which had been undisclosed. Porter Airlines will be the North American launch customer for Embraer’s newest family of jets, the E2. BBAM Orders 12 Additional 737-800 Boeing Converted Freighters

Source: Boeing Boeing [NYSE: BA] and BBAM Limited Partnership (BBAM) today announced that the lessor is expanding its 737-800 Boeing Converted Freighter fleet with 12 additional firm orders. The agreement brings BBAM’s 737-800BCF orders and commitments to 31 as e-commerce and express cargo markets continue to drive strong customer demand for freighters. BBAM will be the first customer to have a 737-800BCF converted at Cooperativa Autogestionaria de Servicios Aeroindustriales (COOPESA), a Costa Rica-based maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) provider. Norway’s First P-8A Poseidon Rolls Out of the Paint Shop

Source: Boeing The first P-8A Poseidon aircraft for Norway today rolled out of the paint shop in Renton, in Royal Norwegian Air Force livery. Norway is one of eight nations to have acquired the P-8A as their new multimission maritime patrol aircraft. Recently, the air force revealed the names of its five P-8A Poseidon aircraft: Vingtor, Viking, Ulabrand, Hugin and Munin. The names are inspired by Norse mythology and continue a tradition of almost 80 years that started when the names Vingtor, Viking and Ulabrand were used on Norway's PBY-5 Catalina maritime patrol aircraft in 1942. Germany signs on for Five Boeing P-8A Poseidon Aircraft

Source: Boeing The German Ministry of Defense today signed a letter of offer and acceptance for five Boeing P-8A Poseidon aircraft under the U.S. government’s Foreign Military Sales (FMS) process. Airbus-built European Robotic Arm ready for Space

Source: Airbus Airbus space engineers have installed ESA's European Robotic Arm (ERA) onto the Russian Multipurpose Laboratory Module (MLM) and it is now ready for its flight to the International Space Station (ISS). Together with this module, known as 'Nauka', ERA and its two control stations will launch from the Baikonur Cosmodrome, in Kazakhstan, on a Proton rocket. After a one-week journey the European Robotic Arm will arrive at the ISS, where it will service the Russian segment of the space station. International Space Station Astronauts Install 2 Advanced Solar Arrays Provided by Boeing

Source: Boeing Two new, advanced solar arrays provided by Boeing [NYSE: BA] have increased the International Space Station (ISS) power supply after European astronaut Thomas Pesquet and NASA astronaut Shane Kimbrough installed them during three spacewalks on June 16, 20 and 25. The new arrays contain stronger solar cells that are also more efficient than their predecessors. Measuring 61 feet long and 20 feet wide, they generate twice the power in half the space of the original arrays that they partially cover. Boeing provided the new arrays to NASA, with solar cells from Spectrolab and a structure from Redwire that allowed the arrays to be rolled tight for launch and unroll with their own energy instead of requiring a motor.
