GOL, TAP Adopt IATA FuelIS to Deliver Long-Term Fuel Savings

Source: IATA The International Air Transport Association (IATA) announced that GOL and TAP Air Portugal have become the first airlines to use IATA FuelIS—an advanced analytics solution designed to help airlines optimize fuel consumption. Luis Gallego Chairs IATA Board

$1.3 Billion in Airline Funds Blocked by Governments according to IATA

Passenger Growth Accelerates to 8% in April

Source: IATA The International Air Transport Association (IATA) released data for April 2025 global passenger demand with the following highlights: Total demand, measured in revenue passenger kilometers (RPK), was up 8.0% compared to April 2024. Total capacity, measured in available seat kilometers (ASK), was up 6.5% year-on-year. The April load factor was 83.6% (+1.1 ppt compared to April 2024). UNWTO: International tourist arrivals grew 5% in Q1 2025

Source: UNWTO International tourist arrivals (overnight visitors) increased by 5% in the first quarter of 2025 though results were mixed among regions and sub-regions. According to the May 2025 World Tourism Barometer from UN Tourism, over 300 million tourists travelled internationally in the first three months of 2025, about 14 million more than in the same months of 2024.
