World Safety and Operations Conference Underway in Vietnam

Source: IATA The International Air Transport Association’s (IATA) announced that the inaugural World Safety and Operations Conference (WSOC) has begun in Hanoi, Vietnam under the theme ”Leadership in Action: Driving Safer and More Efficient Operations.” Vietnam Airlines is the host carrier for the WSOC, which is the industry’s premiere gathering to examine all aspects of safety, including flight operations, cabin operations, and emergency response. Federal Aviation Administration Returns Mexico to Highest Aviation Safety Status

Source: FAA The Federal Aviation Administration returned Mexico’s aviation safety rating to the highest level following more than two years of close work between the civil aviation authorities in both countries. With a return to Category 1 status, Mexico can add new service and routes to the U.S., and U.S. airlines can resume marketing and selling tickets with their names and designator codes on Mexican-operated flights. FEMA, TSA Share Public Service Announcement Encouraging Travelers to Make A Plan and be Disaster-Ready

Source: TSA Ahead of what is projected to be another busy holiday travel period, Secretary of Homeland Security Alejandro N. Mayorkas, FEMA Administrator Deanne Criswell and TSA Administrator David Pekoske joined together and distributed a new public service announcement (PSA) today, asking travelers to make a plan and be prepared before traveling. FAA Extends Remote ID Enforcement Date Six Months

Source: FAA Drone pilots who are unable to comply with the broadcast requirement of the Remote ID Rule will now have until March 16, 2024, to equip their aircraft. After that date, operators could face fines and suspension or revocation of pilot certificates. In making this decision, the FAA recognizes the unanticipated issues that some operators are experiencing finding some remote identification broadcast modules. Drone pilots can meet this deadline by purchasing a standard Remote ID equipped drone from a manufacturer or purchasing a Remote ID broadcast module which can be affixed to existing drones that do not have Remote ID equipment.
