IATA Launches Global Baggage Roadmap

Source: IATA   The International Air Transport Association (IATA) launched a 10-year Global Baggage Roadmap to modernize baggage operations. Developed with airlines, airports, and industry partners, the roadmap sets a clear path to improve both operational efficiency and traveler satisfaction. “Baggage is important for travelers. When they check a bag, they expect it to arrive on time. And if it doesn’t, they want to know where it is. FAA Delivers Report About Improving Organ Transport on Airliners

Source: FAA The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) has sent the U.S. Transportation Secretary a report about improving the process for human organ transport on commercial airlines. The report addresses a provision of the 2024 FAA Reauthorization Act requiring the agency to establish a working group to address perceived regulatory barriers and develop best practices for the transportation of organs in the passenger cabin on commercial airlines. The FAA convened the working group, which included the Department of Transportation, Transportation Security Administration and Health Resources & Services Administration. ICAO Council vote on flight MH17 case

Source: ICAO The Council of the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) today voted that the Russian Federation failed to uphold its obligations under international air law in the 2014 downing of Malaysia Airlines Flight MH17. This represents the first time in ICAO's history that its Council has made a determination on the merits of a dispute between Member States under the Organization's dispute settlement mechanism. Universities support ICAO plan for next-generation workforce

Source: ICAO Thirty-four universities delivering aviation programmes have agreed to help develop ICAO's new Global Aviation Education Plan (GAEP), following a two-day workshop at Madrid's Escuela Técnica Superior de Ingeniería Aeronáutica y del Espacio (ETSIAE). The workshop marked the first consultation phase of GAEP, which is intended to align academic programmes with aviation industry needs.
