ICAO Assembly elects new Council Member States

All elected States will form the Council for a three-year term. The 36-member Council is the governing body of the Organization. NAV Portugal reduces delays by 71% in summer, despite increased traffic

Source NAV Portugal Summer 2025 confirmed NAV Portugal's operational effectiveness in airspace management. During the months of June to September, average en-route delays on flights controlled by NAV Portugal fell to 0.07 minutes per flight, corresponding to a 71% reduction compared to the same period last year, in a context where air traffic grew by 6.5%. In total, 18,300 minutes of delays were recorded on 274,700 controlled flights. In addition to strong performance en route, this summer also saw a significant reduction in delays at domestic airports, particularly at Humberto Delgado Airport. IATA Study Confirms that SAF Technology Rollout is Main Bottleneck to Net Zero, not Feedstock Availability

Source: IATA The International Air Transport Association (IATA), in partnership with Worley Consulting, has published a studydemonstrating that sufficient sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) feedstock exists to enable the airline industry to achieve net zero CO2 emissions by 2050. All feedstocks considered meet stringent sustainability criteria and do not lead to changes in land use.
