Source: TSA The Fiscal Year (FY) 2023 Omnibus Appropriations Bill signed Thursday by the President includes funding to bring TSA employee compensation to a level commensurate with other federal agencies. It also supports funding to expand collective bargaining rights for our screening workforce. After years of advocating for fair pay for TSA employees, the provision allows the agency to bring pay rates in alignment with other federal agencies, effective July 1, 2023. Pilots and Air Traffic Controllers May Receive Johnson & Johnson’s Vaccine, With Appropriate Precautions

Source: FAA Following the Emergency Use Authorization from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) for Johnson & Johnson’s Janssen COVID-19 vaccine, the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) has determined that pilots and others who perform safety sensitive duties may receive the vaccine under the conditions of their FAA-issued airman medical certification. FAA and contract air traffic controllers, who are subject to FAA medical clearance, may also receive the vaccine. To maintain the highest level of safety in the National Airspace System, the FAA will require the affected recipients of this single-dose vaccine to wait 48 hours before conducting safety sensitive aviation duties, such as flying or controlling air traffic. FedEx Pilots Criticize Company for Dragging Feet at Bargaining Table

A look back at 2022: The Air France Foundation celebrates its 30th anniversary

A series of events organized around the world highlighted its commitment to improving the living conditions of disadvantaged and disabled children. These wonderful moments of sharing and solidarity were made possible by the mobilization of the company’s employee-volunteers in all of Air France’s stations. FAA Proposes $134,475 Fine Against Vieques Air Link of Puerto Rico for Flights with Unqualified Pilots

Source: FAA The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) proposed a $134,475 civil penalty against Vieques Air Link of Puerto Rico for allegedly conducting passenger flights with unqualified pilots. The FAA alleges that between July and August 2022 Vieques Air Link used pilots without appropriate certificates to operate 11 commuter flights in multiple twin-engine Britten-Norman aircraft. Vieques Air Link has 30 days to respond to the FAA after receiving the agency’s enforcement letter.

Charlotta Wieland Appointed Interim CEO of Star Alliance

2022: A Record Year for Pilot Production in the United States – Pilot Supply Continues to Outpace Demand

TSA is prepared for winter holiday travelers
