Changes to EU regulation restrict the use of new generation baggage scanners at Europe’s airports 

Source: ACI New restriction delivers a setback for the passenger experience and a blow to major investments made by airports. Airports Council International today took stock of changes to the EU Aviation Security Regulation1 which introduces severe restrictions to the use of next generation cabin baggage scanners at airports in the EU, as well as Iceland, Switzerland, Liechtenstein and Norway (EEA).   The amendments are specifically targeting C3 scanners, the cutting edge technology upholding best in class detection standards – which until now allowed passengers to carry liquids without any restriction and to keep them along with their large electronic devices inside their cabin bags at security checkpoints. Air New Zealand to Withdraw from Science-based Target Initiative

Schiphol and KLM test self-driving shuttle service for flight crew

Source: KLM The second phase of the trial of electric self-driving buses starts today at Schiphol Airport. During this phase, the airport, together with KLM Cityhopper and KLM Ground services, is testing a fixed, pre-programmed route to and from the apron. Crew from KLM Cityhopper arriving at Schiphol can use the shuttle service. Earlier this year, Schiphol conducted a successful initial trial of these self-driving buses from supplier Ohmio. Iberia Group inaugurates flights between Madrid and Ljubljana today

Source: Iberia The Spanish company offers over 2,500 seats to fly to the Slovenian capital this summer.  It has two weekly frequencies: Monday and Thursdays. FedEx pilots mark 1,000 days without a new contract

ATR Achieves Great Milestones at Farnborough International Air Show 2024
