TAP at the service of Madeira Island for 60 years

TAP is celebrating sixty years of regular flights linking Lisbon and the Portuguese mainland to Madeira. The inaugural flight took place in early July 1964. According to the chronicles of that time, the clock struck 11:24 when TAP's Super Constellation landed at Madeira airport, simultaneously inaugurating the airport infrastructure, located in Santa Catarina, and fulfilling a long-held dream of the Madeirans.
