The Latin American and Caribbean Air Transport Association (ALTA) is pleased to organize a new face-to-face edition of the ALTA CCMA & MRO Conference, a meeting focused on the main pillars for the region’s air sector: innovation, technology and efficiency.

From May 15 to 17, about 120 representatives of airlines and 450 representatives of maintenance companies and aviation supply suppliers will meet in the host city, Cartagena de Indias, located on the Caribbean coast of Colombia.

At the ALTA CCMA & MRO Conference, networking and collaborative work are the protagonists. With six decades of history, the conference attracts executives from the technical areas, who participate in this space to share knowledge, innovations and explore business opportunities in a synergistic way.

Issues relevant to the air sector in the region

Leaders with extensive experience and recognition will provide valuable perspectives during the two days of the academic agenda. Topics that will be addressed during the 2022 edition of the ALTA CCMA & MRO Conference include:

  • The future of aviation in Latin America and the Caribbean
  • The state of MRO, according to its protagonists
  • Interruption in supply chains and operational impact for airlines and suppliers
  • The Colombian aviation market
  • The future of aircraft maintenance
  • Connectivity, a catalyst for digital transformation in aviation
  • Harmonization of the regulatory framework for maintenance in Latin America and the Caribbean The academic agenda will be broadcast live through ALTA’s YouTube channel: https://www.youtube.com/user/AEROALTA.

Current challenges and future prospects

The restrictions resulting from the COVID-19 pandemic have practically put the world’s air fleet on the ground. However, even in the most difficult moments, ALTA took this

Conference to a successful conclusion, demonstrating the importance of this meeting to generate efficiencies in air transport.

The current post-pandemic puts Latin American aviation in a very different position from previous years. “The Latin American and Caribbean region has been one of the fastest to recover, despite the particular challenges of each country. Despite this scenario, ALTA has continuously provided meeting spaces for efficiency and continues to provide solutions at the height of the context,” says José Ricardo Botelho, Executive Director and CEO of ALTA.

This new edition of the ALTA CCMA & MRO Conference has as its starting point the objective of consolidating recovery and providing more growth opportunities for the air sector in the region.
