TAP Air Portugal continues to lead the connections between Brazil and the “old continent”. In the period from July to September, called European Summer, the airline carried 500,000 passengers, an increase of 223% compared to the previous year.

Since the beginning of the year, TAP Air Portugal has maintained its status as the leading international airline operating in Brazil, with 1,140,800 passengers, twice as many as the second-placed airline.

We also highlight the performance in September 2022. In this period, TAP made 1 318 flights to/from Brazil, which represents 92% compared to the same month in 2019, i.e. the pre-pandemic period.

With less seat supply than in 2019, this past September, TAP carried 97% of the passengers of the homologous period of 2019.

In Brazil, TAP Air Portugal is already at around 85% of capacity compared to the pre-pandemic period and aims to reach 90% by the end of the year. With a network of more than 90 destinations worldwide, the reinforcement of the number of frequencies is a strong sign of recovery.

Brazil remains one of the priority markets for TAP Air Portugal. Until the end of the year, the airline will continue to invest in its commitment to serving Brazilian passengers, a differential that keeps it as the main international airline linking the country to Europe.

It currently has direct flights from São Paulo, Rio de Janeiro, Belém, Belo Horizonte, Brasília, Fortaleza, Natal, Maceió, Porto Alegre, Recife and Salvador, as well as connecting Porto to São Paulo and Rio de Janeiro. In total, there are 11 cities in Brazil (13 routes) which TAP connects directly to Europe.
