Aircraft Operations Must Not Suffer from Political Interference

Source: IATA The International Air Transport Association (IATA) called on the European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) to maintain the critical separation between politics and aviation safety issues. The call followed the latest development in events following the incident when Ryanair FR4978 was intercepted over Belarus Airspace and forced to land in Minsk. U.S. Airlines April 2021 Fuel Use Up 3.7% from March

ICAO CO2 Standards used for latest EASA aircraft certification

Source: ICAO Aircraft CO2 emissions standards adopted through ICAO have been applied by EASA for its latest type certificate issuance – for the new Airbus A330-941neo. IATA: From Data to Travel Freedom

Source: IATA The International Air Transport Association (IATA) urged governments to make data-driven decisions to manage the risks of COVID-19 when reopening borders to international travel. Strategies without quarantine measures can enable international travel to restart with a low risk of introduction of COVID-19 to the travel destination. “Data can and should drive policies on restarting global travel that manage COVID-19 risks to protect populations, revive livelihoods and boost economies. Tourist Numbers Down 83% but Confidence Slowly Rising

Source: UNWTO International tourist arrivals were down 83% in the first quarter of 2021 as widespread travel restrictions remained in place. However, the UNWTO Confidence Index shows signs of a slow uptick in confidence. Between January and March 2021 destinations around the world welcomed 180 million fewer international arrivals compared to the first quarter of last year. Asia and the Pacific continued to suffer the lowest levels of activity with a 94% drop in international arrivals over the three-month period. Europe recorded the second largest decline with -83%, followed by Africa (-81%), the Middle East (-78%) and the Americas (-71%).
