April 2023 U.S. Airline Traffic Data Up 7.8% from the Same Month Last Year

Source: US DOT U.S. airlines carried 77.5 million system-wide (domestic and international) scheduled service passengers in April 2023, according to the Bureau of Transportation Statistics (BTS). When adjusted for seasonality, April enplanements are up 3.4% from March and down 3.3% from the all-time high reached in January 2020. BTS reported 67.5 million domestic passengers and 10 million international passengers on U.S. airlines flights in April, not adjusting for seasonality. Domestic markets in Latin America and the Caribbean exceed 2019 traffic levels

However, this month, the Middle East ranked as the world's highest recovering region, exceeding its May 2019 levels with 3.2%.
